Accessory's description	: This is my first model for Grand Theft Auto III. It is based mainly on the 1969 Mini Cooper, although I have also taken reference from other mini models. It is not meant to be a perfect Mini - my goal was to include a car that would not look out of place in the game, One that looks as though it could have shipped with the game to begin with. Hopefully you'll agree with this goal, rather than an effort to perfectly replicate a real Mini.
I'm aware that there are other Mini's available for GTA3 - I'll let you decide for yourselves which one you prefer.

Other info : With this model I've tried to achieve some things that make the car unique in the game while not looking out of place. While the car doesn't have a really high top speed, it does have a high rate of acceleraton (Higher than any other car in the game). This, combined with it's low weight, high traction and manuverability as well as it's small size (if you use the collision - see below) means that it's actually an extremely usefull car to use on a lot of missions. In testing it reached several places that no other car could access, and successfully cleared all 20 unique jumps.

Previous work:
Far to much to list here. Mainly for Quake 3 though - check out my homepage if you want to see more.

* Construction *

Base : Completely new model, partly new textures. Some of the texture comes from the original Manana texture sheets.

Editor used : Photoshop 6, 3DSMax 4, IMGTOOL, TXTTOOL, Install Generator, Zmodeller, Multiedit, Collision Map Editor (alpha)

Known Bugs : The wheels ever so slightly clip into the boot/trunk of the car. "Fido" doesn't sit perfectly in his seat (You'll almost never notice)

Build time : Not sure, but it was sprad out over 6 weeks or so.

IMPORTANT - READ THIS BIT IF NOTHING ELSE!

* How to use this accessory *

There are 3 ways to install the car, depending on your prior experience with GTA3 Mods will depend on which you use.

1) The easy way:
This assumes that you have no previously installed modifications that have changed the default "Vehicles.col" file in the GTA3\Models\Coll folder. If you are pretty sure that this has never been tampered with since you bought the game you can go ahead and click on the "HQNGTA3_MINI_Full_Install.exe" file. This replaces the default collision file from the game to one that allows for the Mini's size.

2) The moderately hard way:
If you think the "vehicles.col" file may have been altered by a previous modification then please run the "HQNGTA3_MINI_Part_Install.exe" file. If you wish to use the mini's collision as well then follow the instructions below.

-You will need a hex editor, something like Hex Workshop from www.bpsoft.com will do perfectly.
-In the editor open the Mini.col file included with the Mini. Select all of the information in the righthand pane and copy it.
-Open the Vehicles.col file in your GTA3\models\coll folder, find the string manana in the righthand pane.
-Select all the information from the "C" of "COLL" preceding "manana" to the last Period/Full Stop before the following "COLL" (have a look, it'll make sense when you see it).
-Paste in the information you copyed from the mini.col, it should replace the manana collision. You'll know it worked if the text turns red.
-Save the file. Play the game.

3) All the files you need to install the car manually are in the zip - If you've decided to install the Mini manually then I expect you know what to do off by heart by now, which is good 'cause I don't want to explain it :) If you don't know how to do it use one of the other methods.

Please, if you use any of the contents of this modification for something else, please give me the appropriate credit and let me know you're using it. You don't have to ask for permission, it's just nice to know :)

If anything goes horribly wrong with your GTA3 installation as a result of usin this mod then I accept no responsibility for it - the installers and content have been thoroughly tested to a reasonable extent and appear to be fully functioning. If everything does go wrong you can resort to the backups you made, or those created by the installer. You'll find them in the GTA3\Backup folder. Good luck.
